Same engine right? Anyone know the other differences?
The 00 C43 AMG has a speedshift automatic tranny like zhe C32 and all other models. The 98-99 C43 has the old automatic tranny.
That's it nothing else!

Thanks for the info - maybe the 00 C43 and 98-99 C43 forums should be one? 98-00 C43? What do you think?
No problem. I think you can make one for the C43 AMG. Most have the 98-99 C43 AMG, the 00 C43 AMG is very rarely.
Ok I am at the office right now and checked it again. Like I said the tranny is different and also the rims (5-star wheel (ugly)) and the radio is another one. Nothing else. I hope that helps.

Hi Everyone,
I thought that the 2000 C43's had the "Star Monoblock"--(Monoblock II?? sorry, I forgot the exact coding... these wheels were on the '99 CLK AMG) wheels on them and not the standard monoblocks that we see on the '98 and '99 C43s.
Also, the instrument cluster was revised a bit in '00 to have the gear selector incorporated into the small panel where the "clock" is... that way you can see what gear you're in without having to look down on the actual centre shifter.
I think everyone else covered the other minor changes...

The 98' didn't come with the tow away alarm button on the console - both 99-00 have it.
