I got a speeding ticket a few weeks ago, the ticket reads 80mph on a 55, but the cop clocked me at 117mph he was nice enough to put 80 on the ticket. Tomorrow is my court meeting and I am planning on appealing it. Has anyone been in this sort of situation? This would be my first time appealing a speeding ticket and any information would be appreciated. Any good excuses/explanations out there that I can use?

Not sure why you would Apeal it? pay the fine and take the class to keep the points off.

next time crank it up to 155 and avoid the ticket  j/k safety is more important then posted numbers. I usually reserve my need for speed to dessert runs or hiways straight out of city limits. thats not to say I am not guilty of pushing it in the C55 as it is so easy to just be gliding along and look down and see triple digits :P

Here are some of the resources I've reviewed in the past:

http://www.expertlaw.com/library/pubarticles/Traffic_Tickets/speeding_ticket.html

http://www.magma.ca/~fyst/

http://www.beatingtheticket.com/

Here's a book I've read in the past that seemed helpful also:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0873379500/ref=pd_sim_b_3/104-0245366-9923139?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance

Hope this helps. I did a quick google search after and found tons of other pages also![/url]
