Hey all,
I would like to get a group of AMG Power guys and gals involved with the track events in our area. We have many great and historic road courses here in the North East, and all can be expirianced in your car in a safe enviorment.
On August 28th there will be an event with the SCDA group at NHIS. I would like to see some AMG's there, as very few have ever shown up. This is safe and controled driving on the 1.6 mile course, with an instructor, for over 2 hours of on the track driving and 2 horus of classroom time.
No other group is as well run as SCDA. I have run with most, and for starting out, these guys are the best.
The cost of the event is $235, an amazing deal considering the amount of track time you get.
If f your are interested, download an application here:

For more information about SCDA look here:

Hope to see some of you there!!!

Wow, that's awesome! I'm coming back from 2 weeks in Europe in the middle of the week before, the AMG Fest is that weekend and I'll be doing the AutoX'ing Sunday. I don't know if I can swing this Monday but it's the most interesting thing I've ever seen come along in the Mercedes circles! Thank you for the open invite, and I'm contemplating.

Well... You have 2 hours ON TRACK, vs 2 - 5 min on course. Speeds are tripled. You will need a helmet that is Snell 95 aproved, like you do in autox.

It was freekin wicked pissaarrrr! I got passed by a Vette and a Suburu in the first session as I was learning the course, after that I found the line and ate the track up. The Vette, Suburu, and even a NSX got eaten after that. The 997TT really gave me a good time and saved my butt more than a few times when I got a bit hot. Lime Rock is coming up Sept 5th and I think I'm going to do it.

how hard do you run? Am I going to burn through a set of tires and brakes on my E?
Will I end up with "gold" calipers?

Pete, run as hard as you want, and as hard as the instructor will let you. Make sure you get a hotel room for the night before, Interlaken Inn is good and has rooms where you can keep an eye on your car. They will most likely put you in novice group if you have no prior experience. Do it! www.scda1.com (http://www.scda1.com) You do not need a 997TT or AMG to have fun because less powerfull cars will force you to work more on your line to go fast and smooth, carry more speed through the corners. Like Scott SLK said, great group of people.
A big Thank You to Scott SLK for bringing this to us. Drive fast in a safe enviorment, doesn't get any better than that.

Time to keep our eyes on the weather at Lakeville, Ct. Long range seems to be overcast(good) with maybe 40% chance of showers(bad).

Push the car as hard as you would like. Your car will tell you when it is starting to let its self go. However, if you do Novice, and I would recomend it, I do not think you will burn through a set of tires or brakes. I would be more worried about your trany cooling down after a run. Be sure to take the car around the infield a few times before parking it.
