Hi,

I have just got an E55, and am in the UK. 2004 E55.

I had a battery warning light come on and I took it into the dealers where they found a faulty wire in the loom and fixed it. They then advised me that the headunit wasn't working and keeps cutting out. So it has to go back.

The car has some aftermarket addons including DVD player and PS2. They did suggest it maybe something to do with that but it worked fine before they had it.

Anyway the radio/cd/cdc skips about every 15 secs, cuts out with no noise for a few secs. This cuts the telephone out also. The TV tuner no longer works and this and none of the after market stuff is visible via the aux button on the video menu.

I've had the car a month and I am deflated.

Anyone any ideas before I take it in?

It has command with DVD. The aftermarket DVD is in the boot and works on the front screen and two in the rear headrests as does the PS2. Well it did until it went into the dealers that is.

could you take pictures of the system? I would bet that there is something wrong with the Fiber ring(MOST is what its called if I remember correctly)

I do not know how laws in the UK are but in the US the Dealer must PROVE that your proffessional certified work was the cause of the failure
