Yup, I placed fourth in the Strictly Stock (SS) division, got a cool Porsche shot glass. More importantly than that, I kicked the crap outta the GT3 driver that has had one on one instruction from the driving instructor all summer. I beat his ass by 4 seconds and that includes 2 seconds of cone penalties, (beat him by 6 seconds) I was faster than the other cars in my division but my car has a higher handicap(PAX) than the other cars. Same PAX as the GT3 though.
Overall I placed 17th among 39 cars. Wifey came in dead last, but she had a great time.

I also found out that the driving instructor is a compleat asshole and a poor sportsman. He is friends with Dave the GT3 driver and has been co driving Dave's GT3 all summer, but in another class, P9. Dave drives with the instructor in his car and when the instructor drives Dave goes with him. I really don't have a problem with that though. The problem Sunday was that the NCR group allows us to ride in other peoples cars when they drive, and you can learn tons that way. I saw that there was nobody in the GT3 with the instructor so I grabbed my helmet and asked to ride with him. He said NO, Dave would not like it that he would show me how to drive that car. I thought he was joking and I asked again and again he said NO. At that time wifey came up behind me and asked who she could ride with and the instructor said to her "get your helmet and get in". After that he made sure that he always had someone riding with him before he even got into the car.

excellant scruff,

I went to a vendor sponsered Harbor cruise in Newport last night, and one of my sales guys, told me he is setting up something for me at Willow springs (nocal) he took his M5 (03) last month and had a blast. he mentioned that the day before 80 /amg people signed up so the track was packed. did anyone read on mbworld if there was an event there? either way, I got to get some blue tape for the trip, once it gets scheduled.

Hope you still have your C because they do not allow SUVs on the track. They get their roofs scratched to easily.

Wifey didn't get squat from him. She rode with me next and didn't let out a peep. I'm only a few seconds slower that the instructor. I put her with a really good instructor. Guy drove a Cayman S FASTER than the Ahole instructor in a GT3.

I just saw the seasons standings. Dave placed dead last!!!!

Got some more hardware yesterday. Came in second place at the Porsche autocross in my division. Only the azzhole instructor (if you read that post) was faster, and I was a full 3 seconds faster then his pet student. I even offered his pet student some advice too. I told him his times would be faster if he went through the finish gate with the front of the car first. I think that was the first time he spun his car. I spun twice last week alone. Spinning is how you explore the limits of your car. NOT reccomended for use on a road course though.
I'm just starting to get used to my new suspension setup. Almost all of the understeer is gone and the car is a lot more controlable at the limits. I can keep the power squeezed on in a turn, even if the rear is sliding a bit. Before the rear was stuck fast or completly lost. No warning that it was about to break loose.
