Whats up everyone. Most of u know me anyway. But if not hello to all. :D
Attached is 1 pic of my car, i really have not taken any others since i got the wheels and coilovers on. I will try to take some new ones this week.
I finally got a chance to register over here. neoprufrok has asked me a while ago to give my impressions on the KW V2s installed on my C55.
Well, first of all, i have these set on the stiffest setting, the guy who installed them did that on purpose just for starting point so i can then adjust them to my liking. Personally, i got so used to the ride and i LOVE it stiff. The car handels unbelieveable! i have no body roll at all. For many the stiffest setting is WAY to stiff. And for those people you can make it alot softer. On the stiffest setting it can get EXTREMELY harsh on some roads. Almost to the point your voice starts to skip if you are talking. But i love it. Its also nice to know if i dont like it, its easy enough to make softer. For an example, i have not drove my car for 2 days before tonight, and when i got in it, it just feels so much more fun to drive this way. I am hooked! :D The wheels along with bigger tires help grip alot more. Still does not even come close to help stopping wheel spin on a hard lauch. But it still better then stock.

Beautiful wheels! What kind of rubber? What is the size? Please go into more detail regarding the suspension change, who did it?
Welcome, you have a very attractive C55.

HEY!!! FINALLY! Everytime you post that pic man, I sit here drooling like a dog looking at a bag of bacon. Yoru car is so so nice.
Regarding the firmness - I have my Audi set at 75% front 90% rear stiffness - and I like it. Its very stiff as you said, but then it makes for a better ride.
Are the KW springs progressive also for the Merc? And do you know if the AMG springs are linear stock? I feel like the AMG springs are more harsh than my KW's on the Audi - but the KW's reduce roll a lot more - something I predicted if AMG's springs are linnear and KW's are progressive - well I know my KW's are progressive.
Thanks again and Welcome!

Thanks.
I am running Michelin Pilot spot PS2's. 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear.
I had a friend of mine at his shop do the install. I sell the KW kit if anyone is interested.

LOL, thanks alot! :D
I am pretty sure all KW springs are progressive. Dont hold me to that though. I am also not sure what the AMG springs are.
The ride on the stock C55 happens to be pretty harsh. Much more harsh them my old c230 with 19s, H&R springs, Renntech shocks, and eibach sway bars. One main reason why i did not get the H&R coilovers for the C55 was because i got used to the harsh feeling stock on the C55 and i liked it. So i made sure i was able to get something with rebound adjustment. I know if i would have got the H&R coilovers, the ride would be softer then the stock C55. I know most people think leaving my car on the stiffest setting is just plain crazy for street driving. But what can i say, its a whole lot more fun this way! :D I am not one that likes a soft ride anyway. So far like i said, i am VERY impressed with the KW V2's. I would get these again any day for my next car if they offer them.

Hmm. I'm not sure why that is. It says that for my sig as well, but I use the tags and it works fine.

Hahaha... we don't like MBWorld... JUST KIDDING! I like MBWorld a lot - thats where I got started on the Mercs and where I first heard about hte C55 - so I owe a lot to that forum.
BTW, do you think your ride is much harsher than stock or no?

Yes, honestly, it is much harsher then stock the way i have it now. But really, how many other people keep it on 100% stiff? :D I know if i was to put it on the softest setting it probably would be much less harsh then stock.

How's the rubbing issue? Any at all? And what offset are those rims?

Funny you ask that today.....
Today i had 3 people in my car, i normally dont have more the a total of 2. I sometimes hear rubbing when i go over a big dip in the road but i have to be going at least 40mph. It does not rub at all on bumps or even hard bumps on the highway. It also will rub a little bit if i take a turn to fast. Today with 3 people in the car, i happen to have tried to avoid a large pot hole and the qucik turn i made caused it to rub a little more then usuall. I think having this set on the stiffest setting is a reason why i dont have it rub on bumps. The rubbing is VERY minor and it only rubs on the rear. All you hear is a scratching metal sound. It perfectly fine though, it is not causing damage or wear on anything no mark on the tire at all. Of course this can all be eliminated if i was to raise the rear a touch. I happen to have it tucking very slightly, but it looks better that way.
I actually dont even know the offset HRE did for the wheels. I told them the car i have and they had a C55 there already to get the specs off of. So they knew exactly what the ideal offset was for the max lip for the 448R wheels. Some dealers wont do a 3" lip in the rear since they think the offset is to aggressive, but i think its perfectly fine.

Yeah those HREs are nice as hell. I want I want!!!
:D
But again, some people I've heard have had problems with the R lips in teh rain - vibration caused by pooling of water... so if you ever get that let us know!

Yeah, the wheels are bad ass! :D I never had that problem with the rain before.
Unfortunately I just said over at MBworld one of the wheels needs to be sent back to HRE because a missing rivet and the valve stem must be bad because when you put air in, and remove the air compressor air does not stop coming out of the stem unless u play around with it. So HRE wanted to inspect the wheel, pull all the bolts and make sure its put together ok and they will also add a rivet and replace the valve stem. Unfortunately I just sold my stock wheels and the spare tire is just SCARY looking on the car. I don't know if I would trust driving anywhere with it! there is like no tread at all when its inflated!

Very economical looking thing Iā??d say, well at least there is a donut to ride on unlike a good client of mine with his e55, He had the misfortune of loosing a tire hwy 5 heading to LA and damn he was pissed to find himself with out a temp... The best part was when he called road side repair they told him it "this doesn't happen!"
What ca ya do....
I like that new look! Pretty boss!

You mean a 5th wheel of what i currenty have? That would be an arm and leg! :D I would be looking at over a grand for just a wheel and tire. Plus, u cant fit a full size spare in the trunk where the spare goes.

Well for the E55 i bought a spare AMG rim and fitted it with a "ok tire" and have it in the garage i use the space saver to get me home thats it. I also have a E430 rim for the W211 E430 cuz i just hate the lookf of the spare
