Yesterday was the last event for Susan and I and even though we enjoy the sport very much, we are looking forward to getting our weekends back. Getting up at 4:45 Sat and Sun was getting a bit old, especially now that it is pitch black until we are halfway to the event. We lucked out with the weather this weekend too. Yesterday we ran with the NER Porsche club and they set up a "technical" course. That's another term for "the course sucks". Even the best drivers were getting lost and killing tons of cones, some as many as 8 cones on a single run. All course workers were getting a hard workout and even timing was getting overloaded with the calls.
I'm still getting used to Kermit after spending the last 9 events in the C2S and I had major cone carnage too, along with going so freekin fast in some areas that I completly blew through walls of cones and also shot off course. I settled down in the afternoon and managed to take first place in my division. I hit a cone on that run too and if that run was clean I would have had FTD too.
Now I have to clean up the cars, repair the body pieces that were knocked off during the season, and put them away till the spring. I also have to plan the next mods for Kermit. Seats and harnesses are first on the list.
