As to the K & N filters, the MB part number is 112-094-06-04. This filter is used in other MB cars. I ordered them from Performance Products and their catalog part number is 09-136A. The total cost was $110.24.

As to the tires, I purchased four (4) Pirelli P-Zero Nero M & S tires from Tire Rack. The tires for the rear are not available, so I was advised to order P225/40R18 for all four wheels. So far, very good in rain and I have had no problems with the little snow that has fallen in Chicago. The total cost was $546.90.

Awesome - easy to swap out I assume?

Thanks for the info again!

The K & Ns are very easy to install. Once you remove the plastic cover, you unscrew two panels that enclose the factory filters.

Both of those modifications sound very nice. Enjoy them. :)

Be VERY careful when removing the front cover, I snapped of one of the pins when pulling on it.

If I had to do it all over again, here are the correct steps:

- Pull the front of the front cover upwards until you feel a "pop".
- The back of the cover will have a hard time coming out. Best way is to pull up on the SIDES while pulling forward at the same time.
- The rear cover comes off easily. There are 4 clips holding it on. Pull hard on the corners, one corner at a time. Don't worry about breaking something, there is nothing attatched to the rear cover.
- Once the the rear cover is popped off, wiggle both of the front air tubes off. It might be hard but they are just held on there by friction.
- Once the cover is off the rest is easy. You will require Torx bits so be prepared.
- Be sure to install the gasket supplied with the K&N filter.
- Slap everything back together and enjoy!

I definitely noticed an improved throttle response and the intake noise is more noticeable. Overall a great mod that takes less than 30 minutes to do and costs less than $120CDN.

CLK430man,

Hey,

I went to the performance products website popped in the catalog number but had no luck. Could you leave the phone number? Before I have Renntech do the airbox/ecu mod. I'd like to try the filters.

I just got off the phone with K & N and they don't have anything for my c55, so im curious as to what you guys are using in your cars for filters. If anyone has purchased it, please tell me where, and how much.. thanks in advance..

It sounds like you have a nice set of tires.
