Hey Phil, this happened to my mom's 2003 E320. The dealership said it has something to do with them switching over fron analog to digital? I dunno. They said the message wont go away until she replaces something....I can't remember what, I want to say the instrument cluster. She obviously said no. So now she always has that message when she starts up the car. Real PITA! The dealership said they won't be able to get rid of the message for her either. Doesn't seem right to me. So something with teleaid changes and we get screwed because we don't want to spend the money to replace something.....thats not even broken to begin with!!!!!!!!!! The real crappy thing is my mom never subscribed to teleaid!

Funny thing is my CLK is the same year as her car and it hasn't popped up yet. *knock on wood*

Found a bunch of threads over at MBWorld about this. It looks like there is a way to disable the message. Wonder why the dealership told my mom they couldn't? Bunch of rats trying to get her to spend more money I bet!
Here's one thread:

Thanks!! I was reading about it and it seems that for $1400 the Stealer will correct the problem...FORGET ABOUT IT! I'd rather change the whole audio system them pay for them to turn off/replace the part! Pioneer makes a nice system for less than that!
