Just wanted to introduce myself. I am at work so I do not have access to my pictures, but will post them soon. 3 weeks ago I picked up my black opal E55. This is an amazing car! My previous car was a supercharged corvette with 525 hp, so I am used to the power, but the comfort and luxury of the E55 is unsurpased. I have a question concerning the brake pads - they produce more dust than any brakes I have ever come across. It is impossible to keep the wheels clean. Anyone know where to get ceramic, low-dust pads? I have tried to search some on the internet, but have been unsuccesful so far. Thanks for any input.

I can't say from experience regarding the Merc, but for the Audi, I have tried quite a few pads, the most dust free being Carbotech Bobcat pads - which are good for the track too if you ever have interest in pursuing that.
I can only recommend a few people to ask about pads, Mike at www.purems.com (http://www.purems.com) is a great resource. He went to great lengths tracking down the correct slotted rotors/pads to go into my A4's rear brake setup to match the front stoptech bbk's. I would also suggest contacting Harris from hartonmotorwerks.com. He seems to know quite abit about the performance options for our cars.
Good luck, and let us know what you find out!

The forum over at MBworld has an extensive E55 section, they should be able to help. Because our common bond is the "Luv" for MBs 8) 8)
I'm clear, you're clear, everybodies clear 8) 8)
I just took a ACLS refresher class 8)

I love that. In the time I've seen the defib used, I've never ever heard any one say those three things. I just hear... "CLEEAAAARRRRR!!!" followed by "MORE EPI!!!"

I personally use the axxis metal masters on my M3 and there isnt that much brake dust. They also brake a little better and get less brake fade. I don't know if they have a pad for the E55 but if they do I would try it out.
